What to do in spring in the Marches
Yes, spring is finally come. It’s time to come visit the Marches.
It started officially last 20th March and will keep us company until Friday, 21st June. It’s that time of the year when we wake up after the winter’s hibernation. It’s the prelude of summer, a moment of psychological well-being after having spun the clock forward – for the last time? This year the spring will be very peculiar for Italy because we will have many feast days in a row: Easter, the National Liberation Day, the National Labour Day and finally we will also celebrate the Italian Republic Day on 2nd June – even if this year it will be on Sunday.
In the Marches and in many other regions of Italy a sweltering heat is expected, especially in May. For this reason, we suggest you to anticipate summer and to spend some weekends in our seaside resorts like Senigallia, Marotta, Sirolo, San Benedetto del Tronto, Grottammare, Gabicce Mare or Numana.

And if you don’t like the seaside, why don’t you take a tour in the mountains? You can hike the Sibillini Mountains or take a walk in the beautiful Parco del Conero. The Marches have got a lot for everyone. We suggest you to choose a day without clouds and to live an adventure. There are a lot of peaks – the highest is the Monte Vettore – so choose a mountain high enough for you and just relax in the mountains. This will of course help you get rid of the stress from your work.
If you prefer a cultural visit, the Marches offer many points of interest. You should discover Urbino. The city where Raphael came from, with its roads, squares and wonderful places. You should visit the Cathedral, Raphael’s home, the National Gallery of the Marches and taste the local delicacies. Spring is the perfect season to visit Gradara. But not forget to pass through and visit Osimo and the important exhibition the town is currently hosting.
